Complete idiots guide to managing web content

Many have long thought that having web sites of their own is either outside their skill set or is too time consuming to bea real benefit. Here at ccoder we aim to change all that with an intuative new approach to working with web sites. By using templating simplifying the process of creating a page with simple "word like" interfaces the page naturally gets updated, added, or deleted with very little effort.

Getting started

We can deploy a basic "template" web site and customise that to look and feel the way you want it and give you a basic set of features like menus, rss feeds, a sitemap and other similar common functions. Once this has been setup all you need to do is login to your new web site as an administrator and click "Edit Page" from the main menu. The system will do the switch from a normal web page to an editable one and all you need do is edit the content and click "save changes", the content management system will handle all the html and produce a page that looks just like the rest of the site with your new content.

Doing more

Further features are still being finalised but some of the options being considered are ...

  • Toolbars that dynamically "slide in" from tabs on the side of the page.
  • Menus built in to the non editable areas of the page (the templated region) ofr common functions.
  • Page relationship management allowing pages to be related to other pages, forum threads or even documents on the server.
  • Template and style manager. Handles everything that you wouldn't normally bother with in day to day editing.
